Your mind is the limit

In my book ‘Learning to Wake Up‘ I discuss the 4 limiting beliefs which hold us all back from making lasting change and transformation in our lives. We all have the power to change our lives if we break through these barriers and take action.

One of my heroes is Arnold Schwarzenegger. If you know his story, you’ll fully understand why I respect this man. He started in this world without the resources, status or network but through pure work, self belief & resourcefulness he has managed to accomplish multiple world class achievements in one lifetime.

‘The mind is the limit. As long as the mind can envision the fact that you can do something, you can do it, as long as you really believe 100 percent.’ – Arnold Schwarzenegger

One of the biggest mistakes you can make is believing that those born with greater resource have a greater chance of success. You’re wrong. People like Arnold show us that the ingredients to success are; self belief, hard work, commitment & resourcefulness. The first gateway to breakthrough here is ‘self belief’ and within that arena, you must know where you’re going and what you’re aiming for.

Last month I wrote a piece about creating your strategy for next year. If you haven’t started thinking about how you’re going to define success next year, now is a good time. At any point next year, if I was to ask you ‘what are you aiming for at the moment?’ you should have a clear and focussed response. Otherwise, you’ll spend the next year in a reactive state – where the world happens to you, rather than you carving your way through the world.

‘For me life is continuously being hungry. The meaning of life is not simply to exist, to survive, but to move ahead, to go up, to achieve, to conquer.’  – Arnold Schwarzenegger

Whatever you have planned for your life I have a message for you – don’t waste it. You’ve been given an opportunity to do something. Whatever your calling – chase it. Try and enjoy the chase – we’re all heading in the same direction, life is enjoyed much more when we have some humour through the good times & the bad.
